Concept Car - Lancia Stratos Concept 2011

In November 2010, forty years after the Stratos’ presentation at the Turin Motor Show, the New Stratos was publicly presented for the first time at the Paul Ricard Circuit – the legend returns. The legendary Lancia Stratos HF was without a doubt the most spectacular and successful rally car of the 70s. With its thrilling lines and uncompromising design tailored to rally use, the Lancia Stratos not only single-handedly rewrote the history of rallying, it won a permanent place in the hearts of its countless fans with its dramatic performance on the world's asphalt and gravel tracks - a performance which included three successive world championship titles.
The latest Concept Car - Lancia Stratos Concept 2011 not but single-handed rewrote the account of baiting, it advanced a perm place in the affections of its innumerous fans on its dramatic production on the world’s mineral pitch and gravel tracks – a execution which admitted 3 sequential world backup titles. The centrepiece of the fresh Concept Car - Lancia Stratos Concept 2011 are the 4.3L, light alloy V8 locomotive of the Ferrari F430 Scuderia, which speeds the high tech sports car to a accelerate of 200 kilometres per hour in 9.7 seconds.
The goal for the development of the Lancia Stratos HF's successor was to once again create a mid-engine sports car with a short wheelbase, low weight and superior agility. Just as the Concept Car - Lancia Stratos Concept 2011, with its Ferrari Dino V6 engine, was nevertheless a distinct sports car in its own right, the New Stratos is also a distinct development, using components of the Ferrari 430 Scuderia. Almost all of these components have been modified and, as necessary, customized to their new purpose. However, it should also be emphasized that the Ferrari Scuderia already sets the standard amongst the current super sports cars and, as such, provides an excellent basis for further development.
The high execution locomotive which absorbs its intake air by the roof spoiler’s face openings, back-number equipped on afresh control social unit and a high-performance exhaust by Capristo, including multiplex and sports cat exhaust; it delivers 540 horsepower and provides a torque of across 500 Land of Enchantment.
The aluminum chassis was shortened by 20cm and welded to a roll cage made of 40mm-thick FIA FE45 steel. This method significantly increases rigidity, and this, combined with the shifting of the center of gravity towards the front, provides the basis for the vehicle’s extraordinary handling characteristics. Both the body – which is 33cm shorter than the Scuderia’s – and the interior are constructed entirely of carbon fiber and aluminum. All of the body components of the shell and interior are made of visible carbon. This places especially high demands on the quality of the processing, which was accomplished by Re Fraschini.
Since the first blurry pictures of Concept Car - Lancia Stratos Concept 2011 New Stratos appeared on the Internet in the summer of 2010, sports car enthusiasts and motorsport fans from around the world have been waiting impatiently for confirmation of whether the successor to the legendary Lancia Stratos really drives as impressively fast and with as much agility as appearances would suggest.
Finally, the steering has been converted to electro-hydraulic, the new smaller carbon steering wheel displays the exact shift points via differently colored LEDs and the paddle shifters are from the Ferrari 430 racecar. The Concept Car - Lancia Stratos Concept 2011, like the racing version of its predecessor, has been extensively geared – down to every last detail – towards lightweight design and performance. Not surprisingly, the specification sheet was therefore extremely ambitious in this regard as well.

Sports Cars - 2012 Pagani Huayra Supercar

Pagani have officially unveiled their 2012 Huayra. The hypercar is named after Aymara god Huayra Tata, god of wind. Aerodynamics are a big part of the new car which will be displayed publically for the first time at the Geneva Auto Salon 2011.
During the five-year design process, eight scale models were created, as well as two 1:1 models, each an evolution of the previous in a never ending quest to perfect the form and refining the substance. The Sports Cars - 2012 Pagani Huayra Supercar features bi-xenon headlamps from the Zonda R, and LED daytime running lights. The rear bumper integrates a diffuser and features the four central exhaust outlets which have now become characteristic of most Pagani road cars.
Weight reduction measures have resulted in simple ideas such as the integration of all ventilation air ducts into the monocoque’s structure. The use of complex materials and attention to detail means that the hypercar weighs just 1,350kg making the Huayra the lightest sports car in its class.
At the heart of the Huayra is a Mercedes-AMG provided twin-turbo M158 V12. Displacement is 5980cc and power peaks at 700 horsepower and 1000Nm of torque. The turbos have been designed to offer immediate response at the slightest throttle input, giving the driver full control over the engine at any rpm and preventing delays in delivery. The Sports Cars - 2012 Pagani Huayra Supercar has been subjected to tests in the extreme heat of Death Valley and the extreme colds of the Arctic Circle, proving its reliability. The two radiators are positioned in the front to provide efficient cooling and dry sump lubrication ensures an optimal oil feed to the engine. An oil/water heat exchanger reduces warm-up times by heating the engine lubricant during cold start and keeps the engine coolant and lubricant levels at steady operational temperatures.
Carbon dioxide emissions as well as fuel consumption have been reduced, to make the Sports Cars - 2012 Pagani Huayra Supercar class leading amongst 12 cylinder sports cars. The two stage fuel supply system features two microprocessor controlled pumps feeding fuel to the engine with the second pump only activated when necessary. A large 85 liter fuel tank ensure the Huayra’s grand touring ability. All engines display the AMG emblem on the intake manifold alongside the name of the technician that assembled the engine by hand at the Mercedes-AMG headquarters in Affalterbach, Germany.
The Titanium exhaust system has been engineered by MHG-Fahrzeugtechnik and is a direct application of race proven technologies on a high performance road car. The complete exhaust weighs less than 10kg. The unit is made from Titanium and guarantees a low weight muffler while Inconel guarantees reliability on the parts of the exhaust more exposed to high temperatures.

Concept Car - 2011 New Mini Cars Paceman Concept

Mini's model line is expanding at an exponential rate, and according to BMW's smallest division, the Paceman Concept will form the basis of its eighth production vehicle. Even if that's the case, nothing resembling the Paceman is going to beat either the Mini Coupe or Roadster to market, which are expected to hit dealers in late 2011 and 2012, respectively.
The MINI Paceman Concept is the first Sports Activity Coupé in the premium small segment of the market. The Concept Car - 2011 New Mini Cars Paceman Concept study establishes a new category of car combining the fundamental MINI DNA - dynamic capability, individual design - and gives them a fresh twist with the help of cutting edge technology and an innovative new body concept. The MINI Paceman combines the classical MINI concept  car with the defining features of the MINI Countryman and the style of a coupe. The result is a MINI with visual 'muscle car' design cues, displaying its dynamic capability from every angle.
A new MINI design concept will make its debut at the 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) which will be held between January 10 and 23, 2011. The Concept Car - 2011 New Mini Cars Paceman Concept retains the familiar MINI family frontal appearance but adds its own distinctive flavour. Large headlights with chrome surrounds extend deep into the front wings and, together with the distinctively contoured bonnet, emphasise the imposing nose of the Paceman. The radiator grille is essentially the same as that of the Cooper S Countryman barring additional air intakes in the bumper to deliver improved brake ventilation and the incorporation of new deep set fog lights.
From the side the Concept Car - 2011 New Mini Cars Paceman Concept features a fresh interpretation of the front wing and side indicator that attracts the eye from the A-pillars down to the unique design 19 inch front wheels. This rugged and sturdy design element is complemented by dark wheel arch surrounds with matching side skirts that emphasize the masculine, sporting nature of Paceman.
The familiar MINI shoulder line that rises towards the rear of the Concept Car - 2011 New Mini Cars Paceman Concept also hints at its sporting intent. Less familiar is the glass and roof treatment. As the waistline rises the flat roofline flows into a wide C-pillar that appears to be transparent. The windows appear to wrap around the car like a band of glass with the roof 'suspended' on top and painted in a striking, contrasting colour. This is known as the 'helmet' roof. The coupé-style windows taper towards the rear and the whole effect is one of a dynamic wedge shape.
The Concept Car - 2011 New Mini Cars Paceman Concept measures 4,110 millimetres in length, 1,789 millimetres in width and 1,541 millimetres in height. In archetypal MINI style, the Paceman has extremely short front and rear overhangs to facilitate the familiar go kart driving responses.
The Concept Car - 2011 New Mini Cars Paceman Concept has been designed to allow the deployment of the most powerful engine currently available in the MINI palette. The MINI John Cooper Works 1.6-litre twin-scroll turbocharged engine gives the MINI Paceman Concept the capacity to deliver the outstanding performance its appearance promises. This 16 valve, four cylinder unit develops 211 hp and generates maximum torque of 260 Nm (192 lb-ft), the latter value having the capacity to reach 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) in brief bursts thanks to the Overboost function.
Its MINI Countryman roots give this new MINI concept study an ideal platform for the MINI ALL4 permanent all-wheel-drive system. ALL4 features an electromagnetic centre differential positioned directly on the final drive which varies the distribution of power seamlessly between the front and rear axles. In normal driving conditions up to 50 per cent of the drive is sent to the rear wheels, but in extreme situations as much as 100 per cent can be directed to the rear.
The Concept Car - 2011 New Mini Cars Paceman Concept is, of course, also available in two wheel drive form but harnessing the power of the punchy four-cylinder engine in all-wheel-drive form offers an extra dose of driving fun through a traction-led, sporting expression of the agile handling for which MINI is famed.

Concept Car - 2012 Ferrari Sports Car FF GT

FF’s nickname means “Ferrari Four” in reference to the fact that the four wheel drive and four seats. Ferrari says its all wheel drive, which he refers to as 4WD, is 50 percent lighter than comparable systems, but no details on how this was achieved. (RM ruote motor skills while 4WD means not only mean “four wheel drive” in Italian.) Italians claim a dry weight of the car of £ 3946, making it less than 100 pounds more than the 612 Scaglietti, for which Ferrari quotes a dry weight of 3880 pounds. (The empty weight of ready-to-last run of the 612 we tested was £ 4123.) Fifty-seven percent of the weight of the FF is perched on the rear axle. Moreover, the British manufacturer Jensen built a four-seat, all wheel drive supercar called FF in the late sixties. The term then in effect for Ferguson Formula, and Harry Ferguson of the research provided to its all wheel drive.
Formatting and transmission may be unusual, but the engine is pure Ferrari: a 6.3-liter, naturally aspirated 65-degree V-12 that produces 651 hp at 8000 rpm and 504 pounds-feet screaming for torque at 6000. Power Concept Car - 2012 Ferrari Sports Car FF GT is channeled through a dual-clutch transmission, and performance, as can be expected to be extraordinary. Ferrari says that 0 to 62mph taking just 3.7 seconds-we suspect that this is a very conservative think speed above and will be a top 208 mph. magnetorheological shocks help handle the FF, and Brembo carbon-ceramic will bring it to heel. Energy efficiency is rated at 15 mpg in the European combined cycle, which is always more optimistic than the cycles of the EPA in the U.S. so the FF is not quite the green Ferrari was expected.
Ferrari history is peppered with shooting-brake conversions. At the Turin auto show in 1968, coachbuilder Vignale unveiled one based on a 330 GT. A few years later, Panther created a shooting brake using the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. Swiss coachbuilder Felber got in on the fun with its 365 GTC/4 “Break,” introduced in Geneva in 1977, and followed that a few years later with a conversion of the Ferrari 400 called Croisette. And, in the mid-’90s, Pininfarina built a few four-door station wagons based on the Ferrari 456 for the Sultan of Brunei. From the looks of it, though, the FF is getting the history of the official Ferrari shooting brake off to a spectacular start.

Today, TDI engines are sporty, smooth and economical. The international endurance sports car racing for the last decade, there’s really just one name that has defined the discipline during that timeframe: Audi. The German nameplate that cleaned house in rallying and sedan racing before making the quantum leap to sports prototypes in 1999 has made success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and other races around the globe look like a piece of strudel.
The Sports Car - 2011 Audi Sports Cars R18 TDI headlights, which are the first to completely consist of LEDs with optimized amount of light, are a technical highlight. The new generation of headlights was developed in close cooperation between Audi Sport Cars and the Technical Development (TE) division of AÚDI AG and by using at Le Mans, will be prepared for future use in production vehicles.
